1 Check that both are on the same Wi-Fi
The PC and the phone must be on the same Wi-Fi (the same router). If mobile data is on, try turning it off for a moment.
2 Check that the PC program is running
RDVGO Player must be running on the PC. Closing the window keeps it running in the system tray, but if you chose Quit from the tray icon, start it again.
3 Allow it through the firewall (the most common cause)
If you closed the "Allow this app to access public and private networks?" (Windows Security) prompt without pressing Allow, connections are blocked.
To do it by hand: Control Panel → Windows Defender Firewall → "Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall" → tick both Private and Public for RendezVu Go.
4 Approve the connection request
When you pick the PC in the phone app, the PC shows "A device wants to connect". If it is your device, press OK (allow).
5 Still not working?
- Restart both the PC program and the phone app.
- Reboot your router.
- Make sure you have the latest version from the download page.
6 Slow or no connection away from home (Platinum)
- The PC player must be running. Closing the window keeps it in the tray, but if you quit it you can't connect from outside.
- Make sure the PC and phone are signed in with the same RDVGO account.
- The app connects peer-to-peer first (no VPN permission) and falls back to your router's port. The PC program asks your router to open UDP 51820 (peer-to-peer) and TCP 47832 (direct) automatically (UPnP). If UPnP is off, connecting takes a few
seconds longer and sometimes fails on mobile data. The surest fix is a one-time port forward on your router:
Router admin page (usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) → Port forwarding (or Virtual server) → external port 51820 · protocol UDP · internal address this PC's IP · internal port 51820. Or turn on UPnP in the router settings.
